The song is about someone who is struggling with despair over a traumatic event that took place in their life and is reaching out for God to help them but they feel like they are in the midst of falling deeper into a bad place in their life. So the person is promising God that they will change for the better and follow Him if God helps that person. Hence: "I won't go back again" to sin as an answer with God's help.
